I see no anger or hatred in any of the comments merely remarks of how they dislike for them. Mere criticism supplied on personal tastes, although that 'gross' comment is utterly lacking subtly, otherwise it be more on the lines of demands such as 'remove that at once!' or 'how dare you!'
If cigarettes are there included for the sake of that its part of the character then fine. People may not like it but its part of the weave that makes up the greater whole. Any other reason such as to appear 'cool' or 'sexy' is a load of nonsense and in my book not acceptable..
If it's not acceptable for YOU, then don't include it in YOUR works. But don't go around telling people their idea is wrong, its up to the artist, not you the viewer. If yo u are offended by it, don't look at it and certainly don't bother to troll the comments in favour of the art.
Ah yes the petty name calling some fall upon when dealing with those they disagree with.
As pointed out before what has been mostly voiced before is criticisms based upon personal tastes and experiences. Personally I find this image rather refreshing but still there is that distraction that does take away from it. But still minor distraction.
Now continuing on with criticisms I shall get to the point I originally wanted to start with. The 'anti-cigarette crowd' or the 'smoking oppression' works so much better then being compared to right wing fascists.
Now I have said all that I wished to so I am done here. A good day to thee.
Riiiiiiiiiight, because running away when you're called out for your action totally isn't a trollish behaviour at all. If I use terminology that offends you, make that the point of your initial contact, not that you disagree with the inclusion of a particular imagery in another's art. Sure, the comments section is set up so we can discuss, but when discussion is limited to "gross" or "don't u know cigs r bad 4 u" that individual isn't engaging in a dialogue, they are trying to push their own agenda of vilifying a legal substance. And if you think I'm being pissant by pointing this out you should see the hate mail I got for posting a recipe that called for sugar and cream.
Yeah, I have a father who's slowly dying from the damn things. I saw the picture and went "That's Awesom-.... Ewww..." and didn't fav this or look at the rest of the artists work because that just completely ruined the image for me. Kinda like looking at a beautifully painted image of a nude model and then you realize the model is taking a shit. It just... doesn't look good anymore and smoking doesn't look "cool" to many people anymore, it just looks gross.
